Udinese wingback Destiny Udogie would be Inter’s primary target at left wingback in the event that Robin Gosens’s fitness levels are not deemed to be unreliable.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that Udogie would be top of a list of targets in the event that the Nerazzurri want to reinforce their left flank but that he would only be attainable if a big sale happens.

Inter are still putting their faith in Gosens to make the left wing his own as he was signed to be the long-term successor to Ivan Perisic, but yet another minor muscle problem in preseason has raised fresh doubts.

The cause of the issue has been deemed to be overuse after his very active time off and so the German should be able to put the problem behind him and get back on track, but in the meantime Federico Dimarco is expected to start at left wingback in Inter’s Serie A opener against Lecce.

Among the options to strengthen in the position if the German’s fitness is not considered to be up to par are Tottenham Hotspur’s Sergio Reguilon and RB Leipzig’s Angelino, whilst Eintracht Frankfurt’s Eintracht Frankfurt’s Filip Kostic is always on Inter’s radar.

However, the Nerazzurri’s principle target would in fact be Udinese’s Udogie, although the 19-year-old would not be within reach financially without a cash influx from a major sale.
