Chelsea are unlikely to meet Inter’s €20 million asking price for midfielder Cesare Casadei, but they could make an offer in the double digits.
This according to the online edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Blues don’t value the 19-year-old to the extend of the Nerazzurri’s price tag but that they nevertheless plan to make another offer soon.
Chelsea’s first offer of €8 million for Casadei was firmly rebuffed by Inter, with the Nerazzurri not wanting to lose control of the young midfielder’s future and asking for a significant fee if they are to sell him without including a buyback option.
The buyback clause is key for the Nerazzurri, though Chelsea are not keen to include one in a deal for Casadei as they see him as a player for the future.
The London club will make another offer soon, and while it will not reach €20 million it will be an improvement from their initial bid to try and test the Nerazzurri’s resolve.
