Chelsea are not likely to reach Inter’s asking price of €50 million to sign wingback Denzel Dumfries.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Blues’ interest in the 26-year-old is not likely to be strong enough to make them push the envelope with a high enough offer to get a deal done for him.

Chelsea are looking at Dumfries as a possible reinforcement at wingback with captain Cesar Azpilicueta looking to be on his way to Barcelona, having already lost two first-choice defenders during the summer transfer window.

The Blues are strategizing on how to reinforce the team following these losses, having also lost out on the singing of Jules Kounde to Barcelona, and signing Dumfries to strengthen their right wingback position would be one idea.

However, despite their recent push to sign the Dutchman, he is not a top priority for the Premier League giants, and they would likelier turn their attention elsewhere than continue to push for him if the Nerazzurri hold firm on a €50 million valuation.
