Chelsea have not lost their interest in signing young Inter midfielder Cesare Casadei despite having just completed a deal for another promising young midfielder in the form of Carney Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa.

This according to UK news outlet the Evening Standard, who report that the the Blues still have Casadei very much on their radar as an option to strengthen their midfield in the long term, and that Inter would expect at least €20 million for the 19-year-old.

Chelsea have been chasing Casadei over the past week or so, but their interest in the Nerazzurri youngster goes back much farther than this as he has been identified by their scouts as an option to strengthen the team for the future for some time.

The London club just made a deal to sign midfielder Chukwuemeka from Villa, a clear investment in the future of their midfield, but according to the Evening Standard the 18-year-old’s arrival hasn’t diminished their interest in signing Casadei.

The Blues would like to sign Casadei in addition to Chukwuemeka in order to build for the future, although the Inter player won’t come cheap as the Nerazzurri’s valuation would be no less than €20 million.
