Inter could still offer a new deal to midfielder Roberto Gagliardini, but it would likely be at reduced wages from what he currently earns.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Nerazzurri would be willing to extend the 28-year-old’s contract but that he would not be offered the same wages as he currently earns, whilst the player is thinking about moving on next summer.

Gagliardini looks set to stay at Inter for at least one more season rather than leaving during the current summer transfer window, although the former Atalanta midfielder is now heading into this final year of his deal.

The 28-year-old, who joined Inter during the January 2017 window, has seen his playing time diminished over his time at the club although he still makes appearances regularly both from the start and the bench and is still in the plans for next season.

Now Gagliardini’s future is in the balance, and while the club would be willing to keep him on he would have to take a pay cut, while for the player’s part he is considering his options and could decide to move to a different club on a free transfer.
