Inter could join city rivals AC Milan in the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga for next season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that the Nerazzurri would see the Englishman as a possible last arrival in defense to replace Andrea Ranocchia at the back.

Milan have been tracking Tanganga as a possible defensive reinforcement, and while the Rossoneri’s focus currently looks to be more on Paris Saint-Germain defender Abdou Diallo for the position they remain interested.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri are still in search of one more defender as the departure of Ranocchia for Monza on a free transfer has left them short-handed with no real stylistically suitable backup to Stefan de Vrij.

The aim would be to sign a player for a relatively low cost, something which Tanganga would be available for, and so the Nerazzurri could decide to rival Milan for the 23-year-old’s signature.
