Juventus will move to sign Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic ahead of Inter in the event that they complete a sale of Daniele Rugani in the coming days.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Bianconeri would look to win the race for the 24-year-old’s signature but only if they are able to offload Rugani, who is a target for Empoli and Galatasaray.

Milenkovic has emerged as a top target for both Juventus and Inter to strengthen in defense, although neither have made the move to get a deal done so far.

Inter’s strategy appears to have shifted towards moving for a lower-cost option to add depth to the backline rather than a starting-quality player like Milenkovic as the transfer window progresses, but he has not left their radar.

However, it could be the Bianconeri who successfully sign the Serbian international, if they are able to find a buyer for Rugani.
