AC Milan Women’s coach and former Monza player Maurizio Ganz thinks that Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi is a big player for Monza this season, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Speaking to Tuttosport for a long piece about Monza’s first ever Serie A campaign, Maurizio Ganz spoke very excitedly about the business that the team has been able to do so far this summer.

He is so confident in fact, that he thinks they can emulate the success that teams like Sassuolo and Atalanta have had as they are much higher up the table than the stature of the club would usually warrant.

“Within a short time, Monza will become the new Sassuolo or even the new Atalanta and then who knows… I foresee something great.

“Monza should not be seen as Milan’s third team, but as one of Milan’s three teams. Facing Serie A as a newly promoted side is always difficult, but here we are talking about an atypical newcomer.”

He then talked about how the Brianza have gone about their summer business and he picked out Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi as a player that can be very big for the team next season.

“The market has already clearly stated the club’s intentions: Cragno is an excellent goalkeeper, Pessina is a national player, Sensi is for the big team, now the icing on the cake is missing in attack.”

He even suggested that former Inter star Mauro Icardi could be joining soon.

“I would not be surprised if perhaps at the end of the market we see Icardi wearing the Monza shirt, it would be a nice gift for all of Italian football. Although the right man would be Petagna.”
