The departure of Alexis Sanchez has allowed Inter to meet their target of having the wage bill cut by 10%, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Tuttosport today, the Nerazzurri have finally managed to achieve one of the first two financial targets that were set ahead of the summer transfer window.

The departures of players like Arturo Vidal, Ivan Perisic, Matias Vecino and now Alexis Sanchez means the wage bill has been trimmed.

The Chilean forward is not necessarily getting the move that he wanted though. He is set to sign for Marseille but he still holds a strong desire to sign for Barcelona.

There is a chance that he and his agent are holding out slightly on the severance pay with Inter in a last-ditch attempt to see if the Blaugrana make an approach for him although that seems unlikely right now.
