Former Monza goalkeeper Francesco Antonioli has said that former Inter goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio and Alessio Cragno can form a great pair of goalkeepers at Monza, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking during an interview with Tuttosport for a piece about Monza’s first ever season in Serie A, the former goalkeeper had a compliment for Michele Di Gregorio who has spent time on loan at Monza from Inter before the deal was made permanent.

He feels that along with Alessio Cragno, the Brianza have got a very strong goalkeeping duo at the club.

“Cragno is a guarantee, a great purchase, very explosive. I don’t mind Di Gregorio either, if he stays they form a super pair. I cheered in front of the TV for this promotion, a huge pride for us Monzesi. I believe that Stroppa’s team can easily aim for a mid-table finish.”

Monza are expected to quite comfortably avoid the drop back to Serie B given they have signed players such as Alessio Cragno, Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi, and Atalanta midfielder Matteo Pessina who has become the captain immediately.

They are in the market to sign either Andrea Petagna or even Mauro Icardi to bolster the attack.
