Newly-arrived AC Milan forward Charles De Ketelaere is looking forward to facing off against Inter in one of the showpiece occasions of Italian football.

Speaking to the Rossoneri’s official social media channel, as reported by L’Interista, the Belgian noted that the Milan derby has always been one of the matches that he’s followed with great attention.

De Ketelaere has been officially confirmed as a Milan player after the Rossoneri had chased the 21-year-old for some time, and he will be one of the major reinforcements to the side that won the Serie A title last season.

The Belgian’s arrival means that Milan have made one of their big responses to the business done by Inter as well as teams like Juventus and Roma, and suggests that they will not be letting go of their crown from last season lightly.

The Milan derbies last season were among the most dramatic matches of the campaign and decisive to the destination of the title, and the signing of De Ketelaere and others suggests that the Rossoneri will hold up their end to make them exciting matches again.

“Last year I saw some of Milan’s matches,” the Belgian explained, “for example the derbies, which I never miss.”

He added that “I’m happy to play for the team who won the Scudetto last season.”
