It is still not very clear who will be the number one goalkeeper for Inter when the season starts next weekend, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the official line from Simone Inzaghi is that Samir Handanovic is the number one goalkeeper, Andre Onana is the backup right now and Alex Cordaz is the reserve.

Whilst it certainly can’t be argued that Alex Cordaz is at the bottom of the goalkeeper’s hierarchy, it is too simplistic to call Andre Onana the backup.

Of course, as the coach ist is what Simone Inzaghi has to say, but both goalkeepers are capable of being the number one and the coach will have some very tough decisions to make quite early in the season if they are both fit.

Andre Onana will expect to be playing a lot of games and so will Samir Handanovic.
