It is looking increasingly likely that Fiorentina will extend the contract of defender Nikola Milenkovic after he rejected a move to Sevilla.

This according to today’s print edition of Florence-based newspaper Corriere Fiorentino, who report that the Serb is edging closer to a stay at La Viola this summer despite having been linked with a number of clubs including Inter.

Milenkovic’s contract currently runs out at the end of June 2023, and La Viola have shown a willingness to listen to offers for the 24-year-old throughout the window, with Inter having been one of the clubs most closely following him.

The Serbian international has been one of the main players on the Nerazzurri’s radar to replace Milan Skriniar like-for-like if the 27-year-old is to leave, but they haven’t moved for him yet.

Sevilla have also made the player an offer, but he has decided against joining the La Liga side, with a stay at Fiorentina now looking likelier.
