Inter could go into their Serie A opener against Lecce without a front shirt sponsor due to an ongoing conflict with DigitalBits over non-payment of the first tranche of their sponsorship agreement.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri are seriously considering removing the cryptocurrency’s name from the men’s first team shirt having already done so for the women’s and Primavera team shirts.

DigitalBits have an agreement with Inter to replace Socios.com as the club’s main shirt sponsor starting next season, but the partnership has already run into trouble following the sponsor’s failure to make the first payment owed on the deal.

The Nerazzurri have responded by removing the company’s logo from the women’s and Primavera team shirts for the time being, which has been confirmed as new signings for the women’s team have worn shirts without front sponsors in their unveilings.

This could extend to the men’s first team as well, with the Serie A opener only a week away and the club prepared to remove the cryptocurrency company’s name from the front of the shirt and play the opener against Lecce without any sponsor.
