Legendary former AC Milan, Real Madrid, and England coach Fabio Capello believes that at the moment Inter are the outstanding side in Serie A.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sportin an interview published in today’s print edition, Capello named the Nerazzurri as the team who still have a bit more than the rest of their rivals at the top of the table with the season just a week away.

Inter go into the season knowing that the expectation will be on their shoulders to win, or at least to fight for, the Scudetto given their positive trend last season and the return of Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.

Doing so will not be easy given that city rivals AC Milan have proven themselves to be more than capable of going all the way with their title win last time around, whilst the likes of Juventus and Roma have certainly strengthened in the window, and Lazio and Napoli could also be quite formidable.

Capello argued that “Roma can no longer hide. At the moment, only Inter are one step ahead of the others – assuming they don’t sell Skriniar and Dumfries – but otherwise the Giallorossi are at the same level of Juve, who have their own problems, and of Milan.”
