Inter could potentially enter into a legal dispute with front shirt sponsor DigitalBits over the company’s non-payment of the first tranche owed as part of their contract, and even find a new shirt sponsor.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that there is a real risk that the Nerazzurri could be left looking for a new sponsor due to the financial issues that DigitalBits is facing.

Inter had signed a multi-season sponsorship deal with DigitalBits earlier this summer, with the cryptocurrency having already featured as the sleeve sponsor last time around but now set to replace Socios.com as the main shirt sponsor.

However, the turmoil that has plagued the cryptocurrency sector has caused the company to be unable to make the payments they owe to Inter as well as to Roma, who they also sponsor, on time.

The Nerazzurri and the Giallorossi are worried about the situation, and on Inter’s part they have responded by removing the DigitalBits logo from the women’s and Primavera shirts, and could soon do so from the senior men’s first team shirts.

If the situation continues to draw out as it has, a legal dispute cannot be ruled out, and the Nerazzurri could end up looking for a new main shirt sponsor.
