Fiorentina believe that they will be able to keep hold of defender Nikola Milenkovic despite interest in his signature from Inter and a number of other clubs.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that La Viola increasingly feel that Milenkovic will not leave this summer after all despite various links away.

Milenkovic has been on Inter’s radar for virtually the entire summer, as they have considered defensive reinforcements given the possibility that a first-choice member of the back three from last season could leave.

However, the Nerazzurri have never made the decisive move for the 24-year-old, who is seen as a replacement for a starting player rather than a depth option.

Meanwhile, the likes of Juventus, Arsenal, and Sevilla have also shown interest in signing Milenkovic, but at this stage Fiorentina are now expecting that Milenkovic will remain for the season rather than making the switch to any of these clubs.
