Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic will train apart from the rest of the squad for the next couple of days at least.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that it will be at least 2-3 days until the Croat is fit enough to return to full training, and that a snap decision will be made about whether he is ready for action in the team’s Serie A opener against Lecce.

Brozovic is carrying a calf problem, and while it is nothing more than some minor muscle fatigue, it is the same muscle which was affected in a Champions League clash with Liverpool in February and which caused the 29-year-old to miss two matches with injury.

Accordingly, the aim of the club is not to take any chances with the midfielder’s fitness, and so he will not be rushed back to training or started against Lecce if this doesn’t give him sufficient time to recover fully.
