Inter will make a payment worth a total of €10 million gross to forward Alexis Sanchez on his departure from the club, between the severance payment and his deferred wages due to COVID.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Chilean will accept the amount as he works on his move to Ligue 1 side Marseille.

Inter have finally secured the departure of Sanchez after having worked towards it for much of the summer, with the final agreement having reached in meetings with the 33-year-old’s agent over the past couple of weeks.

The severance payment is about equal to the size of the pay cut that the Chilean would have to take in order to join Marseille compared to what he stood to earn on the final year of his deal at Inter, whilst some outstanding wages from during the club’s COVID-related financial problems will also be payed out.
