Borussia Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji wants to join Inter this summer, who are hoping that as the transfer window drags on his price tag will become lower.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that Dortmund are currently asking for €20 million for the 26-year-old for the asking price but that the Nerazzurri will wait and see if it gets lower.

Akanji has been on Inter’s radar for some time, and the Swiss international’s contract situation at Dortmund could make him a viable target.

Moreover, the 26-year-old would be receptive to an Inter move, and so now the Nerazzurri will wait to see how much lower the Schwarzgelben will go on an asking price from €20 million, anticipating that it could drop by half as the Bundesliga club are keen to sell him rather than lose him on a free transfer next summer.

Akanji would be seen as a top-quality option to add depth to the existing defense at Inter, and also as one of the few available players who could go some way towards replacing Milan Skriniar should the Slovakian leave, although the latter scenario is not preferred by Inter.
