Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is planning to get the best out of the versatile players he has in his squad this season by using players in different roles and possibly experimenting with novel formations.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that the Nerazzurri coach wants to make the most of the versatility that he has all over the pitch next season.

In defense and in the wide areas, the Nerazzurri have a number of players who are capable of playing on either side of the pitch and also switching between the back three and the wingback position, including Danilo D’Ambrosio, Matteo Darmian, Federico Dimarco, and Raoul Bellanova.

Inzaghi wants to use this kind of rotation to keep things fresh, whilst he is also looking at both new midfield signings Kristjan Asllani and Henrikh Mkhiataryan as options who will allow him to regularly change things up.

Asllani can act as a deputy to either Marcelo Brozovic or Nicolo Barella, whilst Mkhitaryan showed last season at Roma that he can play the box-to-box mezzala role that Hakan Calhanoglu does, but can also be used as a Number Ten in a 3-4-1-2 system, or even as a second striker.
