Former Inter target Nikola Milenkovic has signed a new contract with Fiorentina which ends the Nerazzurri’s pursuit of him, according to the club.

It was officially announced on Twitter by Fiorentina that they have reached an agreement with the Serbian defender to increase his stay at the club.

He will now stay with La Viola until 2027 and will continue to be the highest-paid player at the club.

He has been heavily linked with a move to Inter as the possible replacement for Milan Skriniar should the Slovakian be sold.

Inter did not want to pay the asking price of €15 million for a player that would essentially be backup unless they knew that Milan Skriniar would definitely be leaving.

Fiorentina knew that they had to either sell him this summer or get him to sign a new contract because his previous deal was set to run out at the end of next season.
