The signing of Manuel Akanji for Inter would not be dependent on Milan Skrniar being sold to either Paris Saint Germain or Chelsea, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media today.

As has been reported by Sportitalia, via FCInter1908, Inter could sign Manuel Akanji from Borussia Dortmund without selling Milan Skriniar.

Earlier in the window, it was assumed that Manuel Akanji would be a cheap replacement for Milan Skriniar because his €20 million price tag made him too expensive to just be a backup.

As the situation has developed though, it has become clear that Inter think they can sign the Swiss defender for a cheaper fee towards the end of the transfer window and therefore it makes sense to get him as the replacement for Andrea Ranocchia.

He is out of contract at the end of the coming season and is seemingly totally out of Borussia Dortmund’s plans.
