Simone Inzaghi has made it abundantly clear that he wants a new signing to offer more defensive depth and that is why Francesco Acerbi continues to be linked, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.
As has been reported by Sport Mediaset, via FCInter1908, the coach was clear in his press conference ahead of the Lecce game that he is expecting a new defender to arrive but no one to leave.
Milan Skriniar could still be leaving but regardless of that, Inter need to sign someone to replace Andrea Ranocchia.
Manuel Akanji has been at the top of the list for some time but he could prove to be too expensive for the Nerazzzurri.
That is why the option of getting Francesco Acerbi has not gone away. It would be a very cheap deal but the issue is that he would need to be paid more than Andrea Ranocchia was and he is six days older than the man now at Monza.
