Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi’s statement in a press conference that he expects Milan Skriniar and Denzel Dumfries to stay at the club this season has reassured the squad.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the coach’s remarks have helped to calm the uncertainty in the dressing room around the pair’s future.

Skriniar and Dumfries are both linked with possible transfers away this summer, and either of the pair would be significant losses not just on the pitch but also within the squad on a personal level.

The players have been waiting to see what happens with the pair just as everyone else has, but the coach’s words have made the players feel more secure.

Inzaghi wants his squad to feel that they have some certainty as they head into the new season, and his words have helped the team to have a sense that they can build for the future without expecting any surprise departures of important players.
