Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio was back in training today ahead of next weekend’s Serie A clash with Spezia.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the 33-year-old made his return to the training ground and is working to become available again soon after missing the Nerazzurri’s Serie A opener against Lecce yesterday.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi gave the players who were involved in yesterday’s clash with Lecce a light day today after their exertions in yesterday’s match, with the coach aiming to keep his players from over-exerting themselves this early on in the season.

D’Ambrosio had been the one player missing from the match against Lecce through injury, with the veteran defender having been carrying a minor muscle problem which he picked up in preseason.

However, D’Ambrosio is already taking today to try and get back to full fitness so that he can make a prompt return, and his work was a main focus in training today.
