Inter will have a lot to think about when they return to training and work on making improvements from what they showed in their 2-1 win over Lecce in their first Serie A match of the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who argue that despite the result the team were disjointed and lacked composure throughout the match and that they must clearly take a step up going forward.

Inter began and ended yesterday evening’s match in the best way possible, and this was enough for them to overcome newly-promoted Lecce by the narrowest of margins.

However, the team’s performance seemed to decline throughout the match, whilst coach Simone Inzaghi’s solution of simply throwing on more attacking players hardly made the team look more in control of proceedings.

The Nerazzurri’s possession game was far from its best and the fitness levels still appeared to be lagging, and if the performances do not improve then they are all but certain to be punished soon.
