Inter President Steven Zhang took to Instagram to give his thoughts following the Nerazzurri’s tight last-minute victory in their opening Serie A fixture against Lecce.

The President posted a snort emoji on his Instagram story, as reported by FCInterNews, a reflection of the tension and release felt by the Nerazzurri’s corporate hierarchy just like their fans and players on a difficult night that ultimately ended in triumph.

Inter will have hoped that they could have achieved a fairly straightforward victory in their first Serie A match of the season particularly given that it was against newly-promoted Lecce, but this is not what arrived.

Instead, even with the very early goal coming through Romelu Lukaku, the Nerazzurri let their lead slip and had to wait until the final moments to get bailed out by a last-minute Denzel Dumfries goal to win 2-1 and take all three points.

It was a night of mixed emotions and there was a sense of real relief at the last-minute let-off, and this was felt by the club’s President as much as anyone.
