Inter striker Romelu Lukaku was not yet at his best in yesterday’s 2-1 Serie A win over Lecce despite weighing in with the opening goal very early on in the match.

This is the view of the player ratings for the match across Italian media, as highlighted by L’Interista, which suggest that the Belgian’s second debut for the Nerazzurri did not see him reassert the same level of influence he had had throughout his first spell at the club.

Lukaku’s evening couldn’t have gotten off to a much better start as he powered home the first goal of the match inside two minutes to put his team in an advantageous position right away.

However, the team as a whole dropped off throughout the match and allow the home side back into it, with the Belgian’s mediocre holdup play and inability to link up with teammates partially a culprit.

The Gazzetta dello Sport and the Corriere dello Sport gave Lukaku 6/10 scores whilst Tuttospot went even lower with just 5.5/10, although TuttoMercatoWeb and L’Interista were a little more generous with 6.5/10 grades for the Belgian.
