Inter and AC Milan have both been offered Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo, but both have immediately rejected the suggestion on the basis of the 37-year-old’s extremely high wages.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that both the Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri have said no to proposals by Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes, as they would not be anywhere near able to afford his net €24 million per season wages.

Ronaldo is hoping to leave Manchester United before the transfer window closes, with the Portuguese’s priority reported to be joining a club participating in the Champions League.

In this respect, both Inter and Milan would be able to offer the current United forward participation in Europe’s top competition, and so they were sounded out by his agent.

However, both of the city rivals made immediately clear to Mendes that there is no chance of a move for Ronaldo as his wages would be beyond their capabilities, not least because the Growth Decree would not be applicable since he left his residence in Italy following his move from Juventus last summer.
