Chelsea are getting closer to signing midfielder Cesare Casadei and are pushing to get a deal wrapped up by the end of the week.
This according to UK news outlet The Guardian, who report that the Blues are hoping that with a bid worth around €14 million they can find an agreement on signing the 19-year-old in the coming days, and that they could send him back on loan to Serie A.
Casadei has emerged as a major transfer target for Chelsea, and while they’ve had their initial offers rebuffed by the Nerazzurri they are hopeful that their next bid will be enough to get a deal over the line.
Should the London club sign Casadei, their intention wouldn’t necessarily be to include him in their first-team squad right away especially considering the plethora of options already in their midfield.
Instead, they could send the 19-year-old back to a team in Serie A on loan for next season.
