Chelsea are getting ready to make a bid worth 14 million for Inter midfielder Cesare Casdei.

This according to UK tabloid the Daily Mail, who report that the Blues are ready to double their original offer in order to try and sign the 19-year-old, and that they face competition from Ligue 1 side OGC Nice.

Casadei is a serious target for Chelsea, although their initial offer was firmly rebuffed by the Nerazzurri, who have placed a 20 million asking price on the midfielder if he is to be sold without any sort of buyback option being included in the deal.

The Blues are willing to get considerably closer to that amount, however, with 14 million potentially enough to progress talks with the Nerazzurri on the midfielder.

Meanwhile, Nice are also interested in Casadei, and would be the main rivals for Chelsea to try and sign the 19-year-old at this point, although it remains to be seen if they’ll make a significant formal offer.
