Inter President Steven Zhang has gotten the message loud and clear after coach Simone Inzaghi’s frank remarks about not expecting any big sales before the end of the transfer window.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the coach’s decision to publicly state that he doesn’t want a big name player sold will be a factor as Zhang decides whether or not to listen to offers.
Zhang will still be the one with the final word on whether or not the Nerazzurri would listen to offers for Paris Saint-Germain target Milan Skriniar or Chelsea-linked Denzel Dumfries.
After Inzaghi openly talked about the transfer market in his pre-match press conference and then in his remarks after the Nerazzurri’s 2-1 win over Lecce in their Serie A opener, the President will have the coach’s words weighing on him.
Zhang knows perfectly well how furious Inzaghi would be if either Skriniar or Dumfries were to be sold this late in the summer, and this could influence him to shift strategies towards making just one more significant sale in the form of Cesare Casadei to Chelsea.
