Lazio President Claudio Lotito could open up to sending defender Francesco Acerbi on loan to Inter as the transfer window comes to a close.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Biancocelesti could be willing to sanction the loan deal in order to get rid of the headache represented by the 34-year-old continuing to remain at the club.

Inter consider Acerbi as one of the main options to replace Andrea Ranocchia as a low-cost backup to Stefan de Vrij at the heart of the defense for the season.

However, trying to agree on a deal with Lotito could represent a major obstacle to signing the 34-year-old especially if the Lazio President is to hold out for a significant fee.

However, given that the capital club are clearly keen to offload Acerbi, having already signed replacements and not wishing to pay his net €2.5 million wages for the season, they could open to a loan deal in the end.
