Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan will miss the next two to three weeks with a thigh strain.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the 33-year-old will miss the Nerazzurri’s next three match, but that coach Simone Inzaghi will be hoping to have him fit and available for the Milan derby against AC Milan at the start of next month.

Mkhitaryan picked up a thigh strain which will rule him out of action for a short period, and based on the assessments today the expectation is that his recovery period will be around two or three weeks.

This means that the Armenian is likely to miss the matches against the likes of Spezia next weekend and then Lazio and Cremonese after that.

However, the hope is that Mkhitaryan will be fit in time to play in the Milan derby against the Rossoneri on September 3, although it is not certain that this will be the case.
