Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin feels that it is unfair to suggest that Inter have no focus on young talent given that they have put their faith in developing striker Andrea Pinamonti and midfielder Cesare Casadei to the point they’re worth €40 million in total.

Tweeting in response to some of the claims that the Nerazzurri do not back young players, Biasin argued that it is not accurate to characterize the Nerazzurri as having no faith in young players even if they don’t always play them in their first team.

Inter look set to sell their second academy player for a good-sized fee now that a deal to send him to Chelsea has been agreed, whilst other players from the academy like Michele Di Gregorio and Lorenzo Pirola have also been on the move this summer.

While it is certainly true that the Nerazzurri have not gotten the best out of players like Pinamonti and Casadei on the pitch, it is also the case that these players have been given a chance in the Nerazzurri’s academy and nurtured into the players they are today.

“You have two laugh at the idea that Inter ‘don’t believe in young players,'” he tweeted. “Inter believed in Casadei so much that they brought him in, nurtured him, and raised his value to €20 million.”
“The same goes for Pinamonti,” he added, “it’s the other teams who didn’t believe in him, now Inter have €40 million.”
