Borussia Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji is Inter’s primary target in defense for the final two weeks of the summer transfer window and their plan is to try and loan him unless the fee for him drops very low.

This according to Italian journalist Marco Barzaghi, who reported on his YouTube channel, via L’Interista, that the Swiss international is the top name on the Nerazzurri’s list, and that they would work to loan him unless the asking price is under €10 million.

Akanji’s contract situation looks to have made the 26-year-old a potentially attainable target for Inter if Dortmund are really motivated to try and sell him before the transfer window slams shut.

It will remain to be seen whether the Schwarzgelben would be open into a loan deal including a purchase obligation, and this would look to be the main factor in whether or not the Nerazzurri are able to sign Akanji, unless they would be ready to go below €10 million in the asking price.

“Akanji is the first name on their list,” Barzaghi explained. “He wants Inter and has made a pact with the Nerazzurri that he’d be willing to extend his contract by one year and then be loaned with a purchase option. Unless Dortmund drop below €10 million with in the next few days.”
