Inter have got two alternative targets in defence if they cannot sign either Francesco Acerbi or Manuel Akanji in the next week or so, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, the two primary targets for Inter right now to add more depth to the defence are Manuel Akanji from Borussia Dortmund and Francesco Acerbi from Lazio.

Inter are still concerned about the fact that Francesco Acerbi is the same age as Andrea Ranocchia and that is the mean who is being replaced.

As for the Swiss defender, he would require a fee of around €15 million which Inter can’t pay. They need Borussia Dortmund to give him a new deal and then let him come on loan to Inter.

The other options are Dan-Axel Zagadou who is a free agent right now or Japhet Tanganga from Tottenham Hotspur who is linked with many Serie A clubs.
