Former Inter defender Andrea Mandorlini has said that Inter deserved to beat Lecce but AC Milan are still the team to beat, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking during an interview with TMW Radio, via FCInter1908, Andrea Mandorlini explained that getting a late winner is a sign of strength for a team and Inter were deserving of all three points in Puglia.

“Winning at the last is a sign of strength. Inter deserved it.”

Inter won the game thanks to a goal from Denzel Dumfries from a corner in the dying seconds of the match against Lecce, making it 2-1 to the Nerazzurri.

Despite this victory, he still said that AC Milan are the team that everyone is chasing. They beat Udinese 4-2 in a very entertaining game at the San Siro just before Inter’s match against Lecce kicked off.

“I also see Milan looking very strong, they remain the team to beat: when you win the awareness increases. I support Inter, but I see Milan as the team to beat.”

The goals for Milan in that game came from Ante Rebic, Brahim Diaz, and Theo Hernandez.
