Italian journalist Paolo De Paola has said that Inter are still relatively unknown after the Lecce game in regard to how good they are, according to a report in the Italian media today.

The former editor of Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport was writing on his Facebook page when he discussed his thoughts on the opening weekend of action in Serie A.

He focused on the four teams that are Italy’s representatives in the UEFA Champions League and he said that it is Napoli who impressed the most. They beat Hellas Verona 5-2 at the Bentegodi.

“Of the teams qualified for the Champions League, Napoli is the one that has impressed the most at the end of this first round of the championship, also showing the best purchase seen on the pitch after the first ninety minutes: Kvaratskhelia.”

He then added that AC Milan are at the same level as last season but with more options upfront and more questions to answer in defence.

“AC Milan are on the same level as last season with an even greater attacking potential, but with a questionable defence.”

As for Inter, he feels that it is hard to judge them after the late 2-1 win over Lecce.

“Inter are still an unknown and that discontinuity in the match that also characterised last season always emerges.”

For Juventus, he said: “Instead, it was the usual Juve: very bad game and the ball in their opponents’ hands despite the three goals.

“You can’t always leverage on the newcomer to burden him with the most responsibility. Especially if he then gets injured. Time is really running out for Allegri.”
