Former Inter defender Fabio Cannavaro has said that Inter seem to be the best-equipped at the moment to win the Scudetto, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport the former Italy defender explained that he thinks the Nerazzurri have got the deepest squad right now and he picked out the return of Romelu Lukaku as a possible important factor.

“Inter seems to me the best-equipped team, with the deepest squad. Lukaku is very strong: we will see if he will work again with the Nerazzurri.”

He singled out Angel Di Maria as an example of how Juventus has focused on safe players who have proven their quality widely already.

“juve have reinforced themselves by betting on the safe used player: Di Maria. Very strong, I’m only sorry that in Italy by now these players only arrive at the end of their careers.”

When discussing AC Milan’s business, he pointed out Charles De Ketelaere and said that he thinks the Rossoneri are on a par with Inter.

“De Ketelaere? I know little of the Belgian. But if they bet big on him right from the start, it means they are convinced he can become the new Kaka. I still put the Rossoneri on a par with Inter.”

The team that many people have been really impressed by in the market are AS Roma as they have signed some very high profile individuals. Fabio Cannavaro is no different.

“They have moved intelligently in the market, in tune with Mourinho. And an experienced coach like the Portuguese asked for reinforcements to win immediately.

“Taking players of a certain type, perhaps a little older. But we have already seen how Rome ‘lit up’ for Dybala and Wijnaldum. And the enthusiasm of the environment is important to create the right conditions to win.”
