The chances of Manuel Akanji joining Inter from Borussia Dortmund are not over but the Nerazzurri are exploring their other options, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, the Borussia Dortmund player is very keen to join Inter but the Serie A side cannot afford the €15 million that the Bundesliga side are demanding.

He only has one year left on his deal which means he cannot leave on loan unless he agrees on a one-year contract extension with Borussia Dortmund.

The situation is still evolving and he is prepared to say no to other proposals. He wants to leave the Bundesliga side because he is totally removed from Edin Terzic’s project and is going to playing almost no football if he does not secure a move.

Inter need to wait and see if the German side will lower their asking price.
