Inter Edging Towards Signing Lazio’s Francesco Acerbi Despite Protests By Nerazzurri Fans, Italian Media Report

Inter are getting closer and closer to agreeing a deal with Lazio to sign defender Francesco Acerbi on loan, although it would not be a move that would be entirely well-received by Nerazzurri fans.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri are working out the details of the agreement with the Biancocelesti, whilst some Inter fans have protested the possible move on social media.

The distance between Inter and Lazio on the terms of a paid loan deal with a purchase option of Acerbi is not much and so they could find full agreement within the next few days.

This does not mean that the arrival of the 34-year-old would be without controversy from Inter supporters, some of whom have taken to social media with the hashtag “#AcerbiNonLoVogliamo” to voice their displeasure at his prospective arrival.

The Lazio defender would represent an inexpensive signing who would be welcomed by coach Simone Inzaghi, but many fans particularly feel annoyed with the moment when he seemed to smile after a late goal by AC Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali in a 2-1 victory which was decisive in the Rossoneri beating Inter to the Scudetto last season.
