Juventus head coach Max Allegri believes that while Inter are among the favourites for the Serie A title, they have not yet fully shown why.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of the Bianconeri’s match against Sampdoria tomorrow, as reported by FCInterNews, Allegri suggested that while Inter have improved on paper compared to last season, this has not yet shown through on the pitch.

Inter will feel that particularly with the addition of Romelu Lukaku back in attack as well as other signings, they will want to try and go one better than last season when they finished second in the Serie A table and actually win the Scudetto this time around.

So far the Nerazzurri are on course in terms of points collected, having taken six points from six from their opening two matches, but the nature of the performances is as important as the results at this early stage of the season.

In this respect, Allegri commented that “I watched them but it didn’t impress me that much yet, they were strong last season and they should be getting stronger this season. We have to think about ourselves, about improving knowing that we have a big gap to make up.”

The Juventus coach stated that “On paper, Milan start the season as favourites as they’re defending champions. After that, Inter are among the favourites, and we want to be as well.”
