French side Marseille have been in contact with the agents of Lazio defender and Inter target Francesco Acerbi, but these contacts date back to several days ago.
This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Ligue 1’s interest in signing the 34-year-old was sounded out a number of days ago and has not accelerated since then.
Acerbi has been strongly linked with a loan move to Inter over the past few days, but the Nerazzurri have still not gotten a move over the line and so another team could very well swoop in.
Marseille have been linked in French media today, with reports suggesting that they have made contact with Acerbi’s representatives and that they would see him as an alternative to Manchester United defender Eric Bailly to strengthen at the back.
According to FCInterNews, Marseille have indeed established contact with Acerbi’s agents, but this is not a very recent development and pre-dates Inter’s accelerations to try and sign him, with the Nerazzurri being the player’s preference over all other options.
