All three of Inter’s goals in their 3-0 Serie A win over Spezia were perfectly good goals and there was no real controversy around any of them.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who note that it was an evening with very little in the way of refereeing drama and that there was virtually no conceivable reason for referee Davide Ghersini or the VAR to rule out any of the Nerazzurri’s goals.

Fans have become somewhat used to the wait after a goal is scored to make sure that it is confirmed by VAR, who can always spot a marginal offside or a foul in the buildup to a goal which would be enough to disallow it.

Yesterday evening, however, there was little in the way of that, as the closest thing to any controversy on any of the goals was the possible offside of striker Edin Dzeko who assisted Joaquin Correa for Inter’s third, but the VAR quickly confirmed that he was onside.
