Midfielder Roberto Gagliardini is not very likely to leave Inter before the end of the summer transfer window, although there is some interest in his signature from La Liga side Valencia.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the 28-year-old is likely running out of options, and that a stay at Inter is the likeliest possibility for him.

Gagliardini still has a role to play for the Nerazzurri, and the former Atalanta midfielder was used as a substitute during yesterday evening’s 3-0 Serie A win over Spezia.

However, the 28-year-old is not a regular starter, and he has reportedly expressed interest in leaving for another club where he would have a more prominent role.

Valencia are among the teams to have shown an interest in signing Gagliardini as coach Gennaro Gattuso aims to strengthen his squad, but a move to the Spanish outfit doesn’t look likely.

Gagliardini is budgeted for a total of €5 million gross in the final season of his contract, and it would be tough for Inter to find a replacement if he were to leave late in the transfer window who would cost them less, and so in all likelihood he will remain as the window slams shut.
