Legendary former AC Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta believes that Inter showed some of their best form against Spezia because they were playing with freedom and enjoying themselves.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Costacurta gave the view that the Nerazzurri can have a lot of success this season if they continue to play in a confident manner as they did against Spezia.

Inter are now on six points from six, although more than the results, the manner of their performance against Spezia will give the team a lot of encouragement heading into the rest of the season.

The Nerazzurri managed to not just dominate the majority of possession and play with momentum, but the players also looked to always know where their next pass was and executed their gameplan with freedom.

This was similar to how the Nerazzurri played in their best moments of form last season, particularly during their winning run between November and January, and Costacurta feels that it could be a precedent for this campaign.

“Inter looked like a team who were enjoying their football to me,” the Rossoneri legend said. “This is bad for their rivals, because when they play like that, they tend to pick up a lot of points.”
