Inter head asked Chelsea about the availability of defender Trevoh Chalobah already while the two clubs were discussing the deal for midfielder Cesare Casadei.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported live on air that the 23-year-old’s name came up during discussions between the Nerazzurri and the Blues which led to the sale of Casadei.

Chalobah has been reported to be on Inter’s list of targets to sign as one final defender before the transfer window closes, as the Englishman’s profile is admired by the Nerazzurri directors and he could be available on a low-cost loan.

According to Di Marzio, they have already made the initial approach to Chelsea during the negotiations which eventually saw Casadei leave to join the Premier League giants, with the two teams having already been involved in several sets of negotiations this summer including those that saw Romelu Lukaku return to Inter.
