Inter will make one final attempt to sign Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah on a dry loan before the summer transfer window slams shut.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri will make contact with the Blues one more time to see if they can agree a deal for the 23-year-old for the season.

Inter must complete the signing of one more defender to add depth to their backline before the end of the transfer window, with Lazio’s Francesco Acerbi looking to be the favourite and Borussia Dortmund’s Manuel Akanji still on the club’s radar.

There is a third option in the form of Chelsea’s Chalobah, however, with the Premier League giants potentially receptive to allowing him to depart on loan.

Inter still feel that the Englishman is a realistic target and have already inquired about him, and they will make one more attempt before deciding on Acerbi.
